This virus has brought back a not so good memorey

Every night on the news they show a count of how many people have the virus and how many died from it. I remember in the mid 60's to the early 70's every night was a count of how many Americans were killed in Vietnam and how many were wounded.:halfmast:

For me it was the media's constant tally on casualties in Desert Storm which lasted up to the day Obama took office then mysteriously stopped.

EVERY damn bullshit .mil engagement we have been involved in since WW2 ....

IMO, was a total waste of our guys/gals, $$$$, time/effort, over something that just don't amount to a pile of shit......

so what if Korea went commie?? we pay a nickle more for gasoline?? so what if VNam went commie, ?? final ANALysis, what diff did it make to this nation?? excluding sadness of all those folks we lost/diminished in that stupid CONNflict....it was a CONN job from the very beginning, our involvement that is, WTF difference was it to US?? some 3rd world 'nation'....

then there is this islamic war we refuse to WIN, playing around in their sandbox for just specifically WHAT GAINS are we supposed to be seeing from this 20 year war.....WTF, Sadass Insane was the rong guy to attack, Karter screwed the pooch on Iran, and Saudi is in it for the $$$$$ that damn simple.....

AND this nation is so stupid that we allow others from commie nations into our finest engineering schools, taking positions OUR KIDS should be taking....WHY, so some company can hire a China man to do the work for only 60% of the salary??? at the risk of our national security????

Yeah I remember that. If we had the same coverage of WWII we'd have probably thrown in the towel and let the UK learn German, and hope for the best here.

Probably late 60s , very early 70s I remember watching the evening news and a reporter who was in country was having a bullet wound in leg taken care of as he reported.

I remember it getting so routine it was almost like reading the scores from a sports event. And I was thinking I was going to get to play that sport right after I graduated from high school. (fortunately I didn't):yesnod:
