Turns out they've been cheating on all their 3 cylinder diesels since 2009! Fines could be up to 37K$ per car!!!
They've halted all sales of cars with that engine, and that will set them back a cool BILLION DOLLARS. Yikes!
They also halted ramping up for a production electric car due to the losses.

VW disappearing would take a lot since they are the parent of many companies.

Will we start to see the sale of some of those companies?

I lost ALL respect for any european car back in the '60's yet, my much older sis/hubby had a VW bug.....talk about hard to drive?? ill handling, underpowered??? then of course another friend had a French Citroen.....OMG, even worse......then to look at the prices those Wash DC liberals would PAY for that shit??? so when VW finally bites the bullet, that is fine by me, maybe they unemploy a few islamics and save Germany.....:dance::D

They just sold their portion Suzuki shortly before this mess..I could see Duccaiti and Bentley pretty easily. Lambo perhaps, although they're sharing with Audi now.

I heard their diesel 6 cyl. engines are also borked.

They build a lot of VWs in Tennessee. Not good for those people.

We just bought a new car. I thought about buying a VW, just because of this. Anyone who would go this far to piss off a bunch of tree huggers is OK in my book.

I suspect it's just an assy plant, maybe GM/Ford can buy it up cheap.....
