Job Status Update
 

My 6 month contract with the temp agency is up in a few weeks and today I received official word that I will be hired by the company. Full benefits paid by the company, vacation, holidays, etc.

Will have a $$ offer in the next few days as they work out the paperwork. If it's anything like I have discussed with my boss there will be a c5 in my driveway in ~ 12 months :o_o:

I use temps from time to time. It's very expensive to hire a temp from a temp agency. You must have been doing a great job for them to spend the $$$.

They are paying ~20/hr to the agency for me :willy:

Depending on what you are doing, that's really cheap.

The last few temp machinists we brought in cost us about double that (for hourly rate to the agency). The workers were mediocre at best and prolly got less than half of that in their gross pay.

That's cheap in NoVa. I'm using a temp now for some clerical work while people are using vacation leave. I pay $24 for her of which she gets $14. If you want to hire the temp, you're going to pay a multiple of weekly $. It's several thousand dollars - minimum.

Out here I'm used to seeing temp agencies making $15/hr over a 3 month contract, so my $20/hr for 6 months seemed crazy.

It will be a miracle if I get one. Not gonna be making as much as I had hoped for, but am close. Hopefully I will get one b4 the vette turns 100 :willy:
