New Corporate Policy

Just got the following email:

Quote:

Due to the current situation surrounding the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, HR is requesting that ALL employees notify SECURITY and HUMAN RESOURCES of any domestic travels (in addition to the already required international travel notification see below) either for business or personal reasons.

Send email to Security and Human Resources:

Employee Name
Travel Dates
Destination
Business or Personal Travel

International Travel:

Any employees that have scheduled work-related travel to any of the below locations should reschedule or cancel their trip at this time.

• China
• South Korea
• Japan
• Italy
• Iran

For personal travel, it is recommended that you reschedule or cancel your trip for safety reasons; however, if you choose to travel, be aware that you may be unable to return to work until the 14 day quarantine period is completed.

Domestic Travel:

Any employees that have scheduled work-related or personal travel, it is recommended that you reschedule or cancel your trip for safety reasons at this time; however, if the work-related/personal trip is required, be aware that people are traveling from all around the world and regularly travel through major airport hubs; i.e., LAX, O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, etc. Please be aware of the following:

COVID-19 Symptoms:
Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure:
• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
How does it spread? The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
• Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
• Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes (these droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs).
• Spread from contact with infected surfaces or objects (it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.)
Prevention - taken from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
However, as a reminder, the CDC (www.cdc.gov) always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
• Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
o CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
o Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
o If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
HR recommends any employee who is feeling ill with the above symptoms stay home and visit their doctor prior to returning to the facility.

This requirement will remain in effect until further notice. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Shit just got serious, Yo. :yesnod:

Got a similar email this morning.

Dear Colleagues,

The Health & Safety of our team is of utmost importance and a priority.

With the current environment regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) impacting people around the globe, ------ has issued travel restrictions as follows:

• Banned all business trips to and from South Korea, Italy and China for the ------ Group. The bans are purely precautionary measures taken to protect ------ employees against infection by the coronavirus.

Within the U.S the CDC has reported:
• Imported cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in travelers have been detected in the U.S.
• Person-to-person spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) was first reported among close contacts of returned travelers from Wuhan.
• During the week of February 23rd, CDC reported community spread of the virus that causes Coronavirus (COVID-19) in California, Oregon and Washington.
A few points on Prevention, CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases such as Coronavirus (COVID-19), including:
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
• Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
o CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including Coronavirus (COVID-19).
o Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, and before eating.
o If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
In addition, CDC has issued the following travel guidance related to Coronavirus (COVID-19):
• China — Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel — updated February 22;
• Hong Kong — Level 1, Practice Usual Precautions — issued February 19;
• Iran — Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel — updated February 28;
• Italy — Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel — updated February 28;
• Japan — Level 2, Practice Enhanced Precautions — updated February 22;
• South Korea — Level 3, Avoid Nonessential Travel — updated February 24.
• Recommends that all travelers reconsider cruise ship voyages into or within Asia at this time.
At this time moving forward within the NCA Region, anyone traveling for “personal” matters within an area CDC designates above, will need, prior to travel, communication with their Immediate Supervisor and ------- ----- (Senior Director, Corporate Regulatory Compliance & IMS) for the purpose to ensure precautionary measures as the team member returns to the US and effectively rejoining the work environment.
Supervisors/Managers/Directors; please ensure you inform your team(s) directly.

Best regards,

-------- ------
