Who is travelling for the Christmas Holiday

I travelled for Thanksgiving, did St. Pete Beach, with wifey to see her family.
Ringo was kennelled for the first AND LAST TIME EVER; it was 48 hours of HELL!!

I will be staying at the OBC Scotch Mansion for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We have invites for both, but wifey has to work at hospital on Christmas Day, so Christmas Eve it is the four of us at home, OBC & wifey & Ringo & Dolly Dolly.
Christmas Day I will put together a great dinner meal for the wifey when she gets home at 8:00 PM.
My neighbor's two boys are home for the holidays, the neighbor & two sons & I will enjoy some good drinking time.

As I get older I require less headaches, less people, I get more than I deserve from the wifey and doggies, I have no complains and no regrets.

I will miss our three daughters, all have been at our house this month, so I am good with that; it is great to see them all prosperous and in relationships.

Tell me that I am not scrooging it,,,

I am still considering driving to Orlando to meet up with DJ and Steve and Stikki to view the raccoon Christmas Parade.

I am with Lars, no more plane rides unless for a wedding or a funeral.
No more car trips for which the doggies are not invited.
No more annoying relatives at the Scotch Mansion.
Like Al Bundy, my vacations will be in my TV Room.

Nope... Maybe a January trip so wife can see her parents (doubt it this year).

Not really traveling, but rather driving locally.
First off, I'll drive over to the MILs nursing home and drop off a card and
gift box of nuts for her to share with her house-mates.
I'll then drive to my son's house for Christmas Eve. All 3 of my kids, as well
as the 4 grand kids will be there.

Christmas day, I'll pick-up my Mom (89), and bring her to my house for
dinner (40th Annual standing rib roast), my daughter and her husband and 2 grand-daughters will show up, and my youngest son who lives with me will be here.
The wife and I have always done this for the past 51 years, and I'll
continue to do it as long as I can.

Thinking hard about inviting the dead beat BIL over, only if he takes/brings his 95 y/o
mother out of the nursing home, but right now I'm 80% against this idea
because the scumbagger would probably show up without his Mom
just for the meal (the shithead takes his mom's unfinished meals home for himself). The old lady will be 96 on Jan 8th, I'd like to do sometime nice
for her, but ****nugget BIL is in charge now that he moved into his mother's house (rent free of course). My wife was her care-taker since 2014 until 2022.

Oh well.
Merry Christmas.

We'll drive down on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day to the inlaws which is about 40 minutes away, more like driving across town for us. My parents are deceased, so we only have one stop to make.

04 commemorative 12-19-2023 12:05pm

Wife and I are driving 120 miles to see her nieces baby on Christmas Eve then 40 miles to daughters for Christmas. Then another 40 miles to see my sisters and husbands for a breakfast on 26th and then 140 miles home.
I hope we do well on the roads. Glad I don't have an EV :funnier:
Wife and I are really not looking forward to any of this this year but, we need to try.

Taurus 12-19-2023 12:09pm

Nope, making everyone come to me this year, privilege of getting old.

dvarapala 12-19-2023 12:12pm

Bring your winter clothes, as may dip into the 60s for a couple of hours.

TheHammer 12-19-2023 1:09pm

Unfortunately we're flying out tomorrow.

GTOguy 12-19-2023 1:11pm

Those days are behind me. The parents are gone, brother is out of the picture, and extended family are all on the east coast and are all staunch Democrats.
Christmas is just another day. Very nice, very stress-free.
