Well...I'm Going Over To The Dark Side
After nearly 30 years of being mostly a contract engineer, I'm going to be going direct at the company I'm at. Along with a generous offer, I get fully paid medical, dental and vision insurance with a $250 per year deductible, six weeks PTO (with two week carryover), 401K with dollar for dollar matching up to 5%, annual 10% bonus and a casual work environment close to my home.
I haven't been a direct employee in over 8 years. It's one of those deals that I'd be an idiot to say no to, and I'm actually pretty happy that my days of bouncing around are finally done. Time to tell Blue Cross to GSAD!!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: |

Be aware of hours worked though. Yes, I realize that as a sub-contractor - you did work some long hours. But they were on your schedule, in pink slippers and jammies if you wanted. |

After 25 years as a direct hire when that company closed I was contract 4 years. I have been back to direct hire for the last 8 years. I prefer direct hire because you get benefits than when you are a contract employee.:cert:
