:iagree::iagree: :slap:

will be a lot of sanding to create the compound curves.

went to scrape some paint off a window header, discovered it was rotten, falling to dust, so had to quickly pull the whole thing out, go down to the shop, and make a new one (out of seasoned pressure treated lumber, that won't rot later), and get it put in place before the rains came (and then they bypassed us), so at least the paintable caulk will have a chance to cure up properly.

You really want compound curves?

Poplar is soft and forgiving. Get the big tools out.

I’ll keep picking away at this. Need to rebuild a window tomorrow.

We've got some oak trees in front of the house, which provide shade for the driveway. This year, the trees have been dropping ****-tonnes of acorns. :cuss:

Holy shit! Amaze Balls!

Assuming you will send unfinished. I am happy to save you the work there. Not sure how exactly it will be finished but I’m thinking guitar finish with metallic gold.

that was my intention. you know what will look good with it and the ship. figured you'd fill in the depression with black. it's poplar, so it paints real well. no knots to bleed through later. if you like it as it sits, then i'll get it sanded to 220 all around and get it shipped.

the compound curves the drawing showed scared me. if i got one wrong, the whole thing is ruined, so i chose just the bevels on the edges.

center holes to spec.

I think the bevels look better. Did you hog out an area on the bottom? It needs a trench for a control cable so it sits flat. Wires pass through the post, out the bottom and into a control box. Does that make any sense?
