1974 Vette and 1977 Vette fuel tanks

Need to know if the fuel tank from a 74 will fit in a 77 Vette minus sending unit and filler neck or what the dimensions are for both tanks

Hi Chris- call Ekler's tomorrow. Their online website shows a different kit for the two years you mentioned.

They may be able to tell you if the tank itself will swap. My bet is that it will. I changed the tank out myself in my '76. Get new antisqueak pads- the old ones will likely be worn out and damaged. I remember the tank did not just slip right in- it needed some convincing. But it did eventually go in.

This website is primarily active in the Off Topic section. I'll cross post over there to see if someone else knows the answer.

Dimensionally they are probably the same. I believe that 74 tanks have the sending unit on the bottom and in 75 or 76 they re-located it to the top of the tank. :yesnod:

@Mechchris19 IIRC It's on the top for 76. It's been 20 years since I did it.
