Had To Wake 'Er Up.......

1 Attachment(s)
After 4 months of blissful sleep, had to wake up the '81, the doctor called and he's ready to take 'er in Monday for some needed maintenance (brakes, rotors, and sundry items that need attention). Started right up (Battery Tender Plus did its job).

Went for a spin, felt good to git 'er down the road, she will welcome the shop layover. :D

Explain to me exactly what you're trying to convey.

If you were in my area I'd do the work for something to do. Very easy stuff, and I miss it.
With older cars, you get an immediate 'reward' for work done, as it can be seen and felt. Not so much with newer cars. Nice car.

You don't think you get an immediate reward for doing brakes and rotors on a new car?

Well, yeah, I guess. Depending on how warped the rotors were.

Funny you say that, the fellows that come over, mostly car guys, enjoy taking turns clay barring and wiping, they actually have fun. :D

I don't know about the rest of you but... I love to work on cars.. But hate "having" to work on them when they break down. I can fiddle with a car for a whole day and be happy as a lark... Washer hose pops off wife's car and I'd like to burn the bastard. :D

theandies 02-28-2023 10:25pm

My '71 never sleeps.

Man I get this.
I can build a building or do carpentry work or run a tractor or chainsaw all day.
Hot tired dirty and usually bruised and bloodied. And I’m in total bliss.

The washing machine goes up and it’s “doesn’t this suck”.

When in fact, the time, skills, and both mental and physical effort required to install a new washer is a fraction of my bliss. It’s an odd human reaction. :island14:

When you think about it, everyone of your favorite stores…
Home Depot
Lowe’s
Auto zone
Tractor supply
Ace
Harbor freight

Can be a source of a day of bliss…or an afternoon of hell. :funniest:

ASSuming decent weather, I like to work on cars too, I just wish I had a decent skeleton under all my body, when the chassis is rusty and the cartilage in my joints is severely worn, well, working on mutch of anything sux.....:sadangel::shots:
