My Dad was in WWII, France and Germany. Did not storm the beach, was sent over after Normandy. He was in the Quartermaster Corps, kind of like the "Crapgame" of his unit in the 16th Corps. |

Until you stand there, looking up and down that immense, open stretch of beach, you can’t really grasp how exposed all those guys were. Suddenly, the magnitude of their bravery is driven home. Try to imagine yourself in their boots.
