Van Halen Pasadena 1975

Not really a video per se, but makes for some good background music. They do some cool covers. This is the earliest stuff I've ever heard of theirs.

Man, I bet that was cool hear those guys before they made it in a small venue.

I got to see 2 bands before they made it big. Saw Lynyrd Sknyrd in a nite club in Jacksonville Fl. in 1970 then in 73 saw them again at Hara arena. I also saw Alabama at a nite club in Dayton in 1978 and 79. Saw them at Hara arena in 1982.:cert:

Not on a studio LP, but it can be found on two albums...Twister soundtrack, and this one:

Wow. Interesting. Eddie is out of tune and unprofessional (if you doodle like that between songs you will be booted from the tour. Huge no no.) his rhythm playing isn’t there yet either. He was a brilliant rhythm guitarist. A lot of his lead technique is in place amd lots of signature licks. He likely spent most of his time working on lead guitar ignoring rhthym (like all of us).

Very cool. They are wildly out of time as well. I believe DLR is on the cowbell. Good grief. What a mess they are. To imagine Van Halen emerged from that just a few years later.

Great find. Thanks for posting.

:iagree:

Although it sounded to me he was trying (unsuccessfully) to tune his guitar up after realizing it was horribly out of tune.

That was PAINFUL to watch. If I had heard that live, I would have written them off. I doubt I would have stuck around. That just plain sucked.
