No, too much wildlife. And that is just the owner.

I had a doe and her two fawns in my yard this morning. No bears as far as I know, although there have been several bear sightings in the city limits this last week.

We have more deer that people up here so see them regularly. Most does produce two fawns. A mountain trail sort of comes down into our back yard its a natural run, so there is plenty to see.

Bears were seen only a 1/4 mile on both sides of my property in the last couple days but we did not see them. We have security cameras (motion types) but if bears were on our property the were way back and out of range and not picked up.

I live in suburbia. The wildest we get around here is possums.

Grey Ghost 07-09-2019 1:19pm

Rented a cabin up in the mountains years ago. About 3a.m one morning, was awakened to some serious bamming, slamming, etc...out on the deck. It was like someone beating the wall down. Opened the curtains and a big black bear was tearing the trash can from the deck. Dumb owners put the trash cans on the deck in bear country vs away from it with no bear proof containers.

I've run across many black bears in the mountains. They are skiddish and run from any loud sounds....so far lol

We can't leave anything edible outside at night or the possums come calling. A old feral lives out there and we have to take his food in every night. The poor guy is deaf as doorknob and is easily spooked, so the last thing he'd need is a possum showing up next to his little bed we have for him sniffing around.

Well, the bare essentials would fill up the dinner plate, while the dear would do the lunch plate.....

Need to work on that lawn. I think I saw a blade of grass popping up.

ZipZap 07-09-2019 7:01pm

Bear, moose, deer, elk, antelope, fox, bobcat, raptors of all kinds...we got'em all:seasix:

MEANZ06 07-09-2019 8:03pm

We were out on the deck "bearly" an hour earlier :shots:

I might have to rethink the cabin tent we put up for the kids and guests

Just enforce a no food policy in the tent. The bear is looking for an easy meal. No food , no reason for it to hang around :yesnod:

Y'all would think that having deer sightings in your yard is cool, but they have chomped on my tomatoes, peppers, and shrubbery something fierce this year. Our hostas are like crabgrass.

The joke is on these ones. There's nothing good for them to munch on the property but I like to munch on venison! :D

Sorry, MeanZ06. Guess this means you're bear bait.
