How many of you ride motorcycles?
Islands thread yesterday got my curiosity up as to how many folks here ride. So post up some pics of your machines! I am in the process of building up a 1981 Wide Glide, so no pics of it just yet.:seasix:
This is my daily rider. 1994 FXSTC http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psc9e89c4a.jpg My faithful 1979 Sportster that I've owned since 1985 http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j17/69camfrk/266.jpg Me on the same Sporty circa 1990 or so... http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...gjames0001.jpg |
Started with my first Honda trail 50 in '78.
Rode an old '81 (IIRC) CB650 in the late 80s when I couldn't afford to get my car out of the shop. Bought my Uncle's '86 Maxim X 700 in the mid 90s and sold it in '00. Drove from PA to WI to buy the same Maxim in a different color, last year. Got it from the original owner (machinist for Mercury Marine) only 6k miles with original tires still on it. Scott Can't find pics of the CB but here is the first Maxim X with my little Polish Grandma on the back. Circa '96 http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psixinxzdx.jpg Same bike at my old apartment (behind a biker bar) :Jeff '79: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ps5nayn0um.jpg Other Maxim purchased last year. Extremely clean. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e2...pskaiq4u8w.jpg |
hello

I use to ride every day, to work and home, pleasure rides, etc. But chronic sinus infections and subsequent sinus surgery has kept the bikes in the garage for the past year and counting. Only thing I do is crank them to let the fluids circulate and keep the batteries up.
I honestly don't have the desire to ride anymore. Probably, no, will be putting the bikes up for sale. I hate to see them sit when someone else could be enjoying them. |
You're all gonna die on those things you know. They don't call 'em donorcycles for nothing.

I can no longer ride due to taking blood thinners. :(
Also, I would have to really think about it. Simply, there are too many idiots on the road not paying attention. 30 years ago, not so bad, but now. Forget it. |

Mine on the right, oldest son's on the left. My son-in-law just bought a 2015 left-over Dyna. Family affair, both my brothers have big cruisers too. |
