Minneapolis Announces Transformative Plan for Public Safety

https://nypost.com/2020/06/04/minnea...ce-department/

Quote:

Council President Lisa Bender joined several other members in promises to drastically change how public safety is upheld in the city.

“We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety,” Bender tweeted.

Bender joined colleagues like Jeremiah Ellison, who said reforms to the department are not enough.

“And when we’re done, we’re not simply gonna glue [the department] back together,” tweeted Ellison.

Here's the replacement:

I'm going to use a broadbrush sweeping statement below that may sound racist...hell maybe it is racist... it's my opinion.

>>>>> If you are sensitive, stop here. <<<<<

Blacks want one thing.

They want the ability to break the law without any action taken whatsoever. No police, no fines, no investigation...nothing.

They want to take, rob, cheat, whatever, and be untouchable.

This is not about equality. It is about preferential treatment.

That is the goal.

Biden was talking about establishing a national oversight agency that would oversee every single law enforcement agency in the country.

I'm thinking that means they could order any Red State / Red Counties to "stand down" when there is a riot/demonstration in their areas and not be able to make arrests or interfere in any way for fear of prosecution by this new federal agency.

Sort of like we see in areas like Portland, etc where Antifa is allowed to operate with impunity.

The City of Minneapolis has had a series of progressive mayors since 1974. The police department is a reflection of their policies and programs.

The people their are too stupid or brainwashed to understand this and the MSM refuses to mention it.

In a meeting with black Wilmington leaders Monday, Joe Biden said he will create a police oversight board in the first 100 days of his presidency.

The former vice president and presumed Democratic presidential nominee met with about a dozen community leaders at Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, including U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester.

It was his first in-person campaign event since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the past two months, Biden has campaigned virtually out of his basement in his Wilmington home.

“I don’t expect anything from the black community," Biden said, adding that he's never taken for granted their support.

“It has to be earned,” he added. “Earned every single time.”

The meeting with community members was just blocks away from where this weekend's protests took place.

Like in cities across the country, Delawareans protested in Wilmington following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white police officer in Minneapolis pressed his knee into his neck for about eight minutes.

In Wilmington on Saturday, a peaceful protest turned heated and eventually violent as day turned into night. The evening ended with more than a dozen businesses on Market and Shipley streets being damaged or looted.

On Sunday afternoon, Biden visited Market Street to see the recovery efforts.

Later that day, a protest in Dover ended with the Dover Mall being looted.

We are a nation in pain right now, but we must not allow this pain to destroy us.

As President, I will help lead this conversation — and more importantly, I will listen, just as I did today visiting the site of last night's protests in Wilmington.

The meeting on Monday morning began with attendees standing up and addressing the candidate. A couple of people spoke about their relationship with Biden's son Beau, who died five years ago from brain cancer.

Their comments ranged from asking Biden how he plans to undo the impact of the 1994 crime bill — which has been credited to leading to mass incarceration — to urging him to pick a black woman as his vice president.

One pastor urged him to pick Stacy Abrams, former minority leader of Georgia's House of Representatives, as his running mate.

The Delawareans stressed to Biden that the next president needs to deliver on promises made to the black community.

Biden spent most of the time listening to the attendees' thoughts — and criticisms. The candidate, wearing a blue suit, sat at the front of the church and took notes. The community leaders, many of them pastors, wore masks and sat far apart in the pews.

When he got up and spoke, pushing down the mask on his face, Biden said the COVID-19 epidemic has ripped the "Band-Aid" off the problems this country faces.

"Nobody can pretend any longer what this is all about," Biden said. "Nobody can pretend who has carried us on our backs. It’s been minorities. It's been Hispanics. It’s been blacks."

Throughout the campaign, Biden has remarked about the 1968 riots in Wilmington, and how it shaped him as a young adult. On Monday, he said that time in Wilmington contributed to his decision to quit the law firm he was working for and become a public defender, which he was for a brief time.

He also credited his relationships with Delaware's black community as the foundation for his strong support from black Americans nationwide.

Biden said his administration would have an economic recovery plan that "deals with the institutional structures and institutional racism." He hinted about releasing a new economic plan in the coming weeks.

When he finished speaking, Biden asked the group if they would join him in prayer.

“This is like family," he said.

So, what? Do the blacks think they are owed these things? :confused5:

The "king" of PA is also wanting to establish an oversight committee for the police here in PA. What an absolutely ****ing stupid thing to do.

Give the police the power to do their job. Criminals should be caught, tried, and if found guilty, serve whatever sentence is appropriate for their crimes. This country has gotten way too soft.

Yes, I know the jails are full of "innocent" people. For everyone who is on death row, let's just go ahead and complete the sentence. For heinous crimes, let's bring back public execution.

If there is no law enforcement, then there will be lawlessness. Sure, 99% of the population will continue to be law abiding citizens, but it is the 1% that is the problem.

69camfrk 06-05-2020 4:16pm

If those cops were smart, they would pack their bags and all quit today, and let the lawless mofos have the place. Every place where liberalism is full bore, isn't fit to live anyway.:yesnod:

Old Ben 06-05-2020 4:57pm

A few Muslims knocked down the World Trade Center killing thousands but we are not allowed to lump all Muslims in what happened on 9/11.

A few bad cops use excessive force and some blacks are killed BUT it's okay to lump ALL policemen as being bad cops.

99 pewtercoupe 06-05-2020 4:58pm

I just said to my wife I expect a lot of smaller cities in red states are going to get flooded with resumes/applications from cops who don’t want to deal with the BS of city governments that don’t have their backs.

Dan Dlabay 06-05-2020 5:09pm

If this crap keeps up there could be formed a secret police something like the Gestapo or Iran's republican guard which will brutally control things.:cert:

Problem is, all Muslims want to cut your throat for being an infidel, so I have to lump them all together. There are way too many decent cops out there to get a bad rap because of a few, but too many don't see it that way. It is unfortunate, but too many politicians, and media types put them in a single basket. As bad as it is, it is the world we live in.:sadangel:

I Think the point is that the muslims follow a faith that instructs them to kill infidels and to fake, lie, cheat, whatever you have to do to gain trust of the infidels so that you can get close enough to kill them.

I have never actually HEARD an officer get sworn in, but I'm going to guess their oath does not include that particular directive.

Hey, I didn't write this, but here ya go. Believe what ya want....

The Qur’an tells us: “not to make friendship with Jews and Christians” (5:51), “kill the disbelievers wherever we find them” (2:191), “murder them and treat them harshly” (9:123), “fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem”

(9:5). The Qur’an demands that we fight the unbelievers, and promises “If there are twenty amongst you, you will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, you will vanquish a thousand of them” (8:65).

Allah and his messenger want us to fight the Christians and the Jews “until they pay the Jizya [a penalty tax for the non-Muslims living under Islamic rules] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (9:29).

Allah and his messenger announce that it is acceptable to go back on our promises (treaties) and obligations with Pagans and make war on them whenever we find ourselves strong enough to do so (9:3). Our God tells us to “fight the unbelievers” and “He will punish them by our hands, cover them with shame and help us (to victory) over them” (9:14).

I've worked with Muslims as well as non-Muslim Indians. I don't ever want to work with Muslims again.

mrvette 06-06-2020 2:29am

I dunno why we didn't just go in and eliminate all of islam after the 9/11 attacks....simple and easy to do.....

attack ALL the electric plants just one 500 lbs bomb on the boiler and the plant goes up they can't fix them because WE built them......so it's lights OUT, no radios no communications, no battery charging, no fuel pumps,

what think they got over there in sandland?? maybe up to 1000 power plants?? we can/could deliver them bombs in two daze......or less.....

then we poison every water source they have.....they die in the deserts looking for a well......

India would join in with us, Paki be gone.......Russia would too......

In two weeks or less, no more islam......:seasix:
