NEW APPRECIATION FOR MY C5

After owning Corvettes of many generations I just bought my 2001 Black 6 speed one owner convertible with only 18k. miles last april and fell in love with it at first site. Watching the new generation corvette being displayed for the first time actually made me appreciate my virtually new C5 even more because , of the two I would buy the C5 if I had the choice of one or the other being new today. I don't think we will ever see styling again like they put into the C5. This is what makes classics out of cars like the C1 2 and 3 and I think the C5 is destined for the same thing.

Welcome. :seasix:

C5? Maybe 30-40 years from now. If you're young, hold onto it, then when you're in your 60-70's, you may get a chunk of change for it.

I'm 64 and didn't buy it for the investment. I intend to use and enjoy the car as I did all of my previous vettes but I do see these cars becoming collector classics in the future. Of course thats just my opinion.

Well, I'm older than you, so drive the hell out of it, that's what I do.

I felt the same way about my C5 when the C6 first came out.
Now that the C7 is out, I'm not as sure as I once was, The C7 has some amazing features and styling.

Back in October 2000, I bought a 2001 black 6 speed vert. Earlier today, I figured out that if I still had it, it would likely have around 180k miles on it. I miss that car.

Hope you're enjoying yours!
