Plaid spanked by 2018 Escalade

718 miles. Total time stopped: 11 minutes. 1 gas/food stop, 1 bathroom stop. Most of the time cruise set on 78-79 through hilly terrain. Still plenty left in the tank.

Imagine spending “six figures” on your Plaid and not being able to make a trip that a 5 year old Escalade does with ease.

I would have posted real time but I was too busy driving as opposed to sitting in a Target parking lot.

Damn, 3 minutes isn't enough time for a coffee, never mind a warm meal. :(

Tikiman 12-26-2023 8:45am

Three minutes! You must have found one of those "Super charging stations".

Tesla owners don't have to make road trips. In their world, everything comes to them.

Pretty sure I can pee and grab a cup of joe in 3 minutes. :island14:

Throw in some Montucky cold weather and the Appliance would have looked even worse.

Further proof that gasoline powered vehicles are clearly superior to those who get their energy from burning coal.

Escalade has no competition, and no substitute, it stands alone!!

Too big, too ponderous, can't take a curve at proper speed. Macan for the win. :yesnod:

I know a lot of ladies that drive macans, none could handle the Escalade.

Very different vehichles, again, nothing compares to the features and performance and passengers and cargo space than an Escalade--NOTHING!!

GrandSportC3 12-26-2023 11:40am

Yeah, real MEN care about range

Back in the day, people on forums for performance cars were interested in performance. Kill stories were all over the place. People were performance modding their cars which KILLED their range but made the cars faster. Now, that their cars get their butt handed to them, even with mods, they focus on other specs. It's so pathetic.. I'm sure your husband was happy that you guys only had to stop once in such distance and now you can go and cuddle at your destination and tell each other how much you loved not having to stop more than once on that trip.

I see plenty of wimin driving those big ponderous, gas-guzzlin' trucks. None of them can handle the curvy roads here. :yesnod:

EVs are for guys who have always been mystified by the simple elegance of the internal combustion engine. :D

What performance mods have you done to your Tesla?

Imagine spending 6 figures on a car that 6 months later can be purchased for $40k less?

I don't need any because the car already blows the doors of virtually any gas powered street cars.

I did mod all my Vettes because they were not quick enough for my taste. Why would I mod something that's already enough fun? I could easily run 9.50's by reducing weight but that's not a lot of difference. Still going to be a 9 second car.
