Your Time has Expired: Striking Google Worker Speaking to Austin City Council Fired

TL,DW: These people are "on strike" because they don't want to go back to the office and work. Guy is thanking the leftist Austin City Council for supporting them, his erstwhile co-worker comes up to tell him they are all fired effective immediately. Council member tells guy his time is expired.

[sad trombone noises]

Good. Now maybe the lazy ass hippy can go and find a real job. Let's see if he can dig ditches remotely. Maybe he can learn to speak publicly while he is at it.

Haha, they should have just rode their skateboards back into the play land office & perform their $130k job onsite .
These idiots are in for a huge surprise when they discover that their skill set is really only worth $60k everywhere else .

This is about whether Google, through another entity, should be able to hire contract workers and be free of the normal employee/employer responsibilities.

The whole "we won many cases" is BS. Contract workers sign up knowingly, so eat it.

There's a refinery on the Houston ship channel formerly known as Pasadena Refining Company. Their workers literally went on strike for years, and eventually, I guess those striking workers finally figured out they had been replaced, and that was that. The refinery was eventually sold to a Brazilian company.

Was actually hoping you'd jump in. How many "parent" companies did you support when you were doing hourly?

I thought people did contract work because they were happy not getting their wages scraped off the top by the .corp and were grown up enough to fend for themselves. Now they want a tit to suck on? Stupid.
