This is incorrect. Any page view is counted as a page view, not just by unique users. If you reload this page, you will add a view. If you reload this page 5 times, you will add 5 views. That may not be readily noticeable, because although each view has been counted, the displayed view count only updates hourly.
As for your OP question, Rob was about right with typical number of members that login here daily. You can view that near the bottom of the home page:

If that seems disproportionately high, remember most sections of this site are publicly-viewable, one need not be a member to view this thread (for example).
And yes, a lot of that is going to be bot traffic, there's always numerous search engine bots crawling and indexing this site, and that's totally normal. At any given time, It's not unusual to see only 30-40 members logged in here, but 500+ guests. Those guests are all looking at something here, and thus, generating page views.
