It's either Columbus Day or Happy Indigenous People's Day, depending on where you live. I'm off Friday- SD decided to sidestep the whole issue.

Do people realize that American Indians kept slaves, Stole children, Lived in a virtual state of war, claimed and controlled land by war and had no concept of private land ownership?

Don't romanticize them. They had their good points and bad point just like any civilization.

And I have Native American blood that I can trace back to the 1700 in Canada.

Yes, all the above is true. That said they still were treated unfairly. It's Indigenous Peoples' Day today for me.

Everyday is a holiday for me.:D

Just got back from my yearly eye retina specialist, pretty much the same as last year, have a little mac-degen creeping in, same with cataracts. Doc says maybe some eye surgery in 5 years, but nothing to worry about.

Well at least no syphilis like Chris and the boys brought over.......:D

I live near the Cherokee capital. Their leader sold them out for cash. Maybe he thought it would happen anyway and took the cash to boot.
