Last minute AIK in Va Beach
 

I know this is late and it looks like most in HR are going to Quaker Steak but I have been out of town all week for work and my oldest son wants me to go with him and all of his Honda S2000 buddies to AIK in Va Beach today. I think they want to beat up on the old Corvette guy they are meeting their around noon. So if their is anyone who wants to help me pick on some ricers feel free to come find us. If it is not to late when we are finished I might try to get them to go to Quaker Steak.

We did 2 heats it was my first time at this so I didn't do so good the first heat my son had the fastest lap of our group the first heat, but the second heat and fasted lap of the day for our group was Lee so he sent the ricers down the road :D and I did a lot better the second go around. It was fun next time I see the vettes doing this I will be out.

Now why does that not surprise me!!! I ended up going to AIK with some guys form work that were talking som eyou know what and had to put them in there place!!!

I agree with you Tom! Hopefully I get to enjoy some outings instead of working all the damn time!

Lee was telling me that everyone got together and rented the track for the day one time that with enough people that it wasn't too expensive. That maybe we could do some kind of friendly challenge with the S2000 guys they seem to like the idea. We could do something like that while it is still cold out. I'm not trying to make everyone hang out with the imports but it is easy for me because of my son (where did I go wrong :willy:). Just an idea if anyone is up for it let me know.

Yes we ended up renting the track at VIR. Dont know if it is even open yet cause it is an outdoor track. Most of us met at a Hardees and then we traveled out to the track. Im up for doing it again thats for sure!

We rented the track for the hr. Can't remember the exact cost, but it was in the neighborhood $65-$80. I had a blast!

The only thing I'd maybe like to do differernt is maybe drive up and spend the night and drive home the next day. It's VIR, so Im sure there is plently things we could find to do.

It's a long drive to go up for a few hrs, then turn around and drive home. Either way, I'd still do it :D

It was $550 for the hour, and we can split up however we want. Now this was last years price so I dont know if it is the same or has gone up. Either way it still is not bad. I agree with you Tom the drive up is long for just an hour worth of racing! I would not mind staying the night at the camp site. Maybe when it starts to get a little warmer out we should give VIR a call and see what the price is. And then try to figure out a good weekend when people are going to be home and not traveling for work( for example ME)

we have also rented AIK and another place in Richmond by the track. Also we used to do enduro races in richmond that was pretty fun. Don/t remember prices but wanna say about 100 bucks.

That was about what it cost to rent AIK.

I have been doing some research on Sumit Point Kart track, looks like they have a nice set up.
