Admit it, no matter how many times you go....
......you still jump at a throttle whack.:rofl::rofl:

To me, you've not seen top fuel done right, unless you've seen them go down the valley at Bristol. No other track in the world holds the sound in like that place, and the night racing there is in a word...spectacular.:seasix:

The only time I was at Bristol, I made a pass down the dragstrip, and a few laps around the oval. Apparently, my C5 made a little bit of noise going around the oval, as when the laps were done, all the gearheads came running over to see what I had under the hood. :leaving:

Grew up going to the National events at Heartland Park Topeka.
Haven't been to a race in years, but always loved that. You could tell who was at their first race. That and choking on the methanol in the air. |
Back decades ago I used to go to the local dragstrips and hear the cars a lot...up in the Wash DC region of Md.......
when moving to Floriduh, I found out about Gainsville being just down the road an hour or less.....so went to one of the national runs...... ONE of the cars is loud as hell......the combo of two taking off at once gets the engines slightly out of synch with each other.....and the extreme pulses get additive and subtractive at the starting line, and that air pressure is really felt in the chest.....as I was right at the starting line, pretty close to the fence......:dance::issues::D |
Bucky and I were at Texas Motorplex when Force and Bernstein hit. Happened right in front of us. All we saw was a bunch of dirt and shit in the air until we watched the screen. 330 mph goes by REAL quick.
