F@ck'in Comcast, yet again..
 

Finally got done (for now) installing the flat screen in the kitchen post remodel and Comcast ****ed my shit up yet again. I mount the plate to the studs for the flat screen and go to mount the TV and the bottom of it is sticking out a good half inch more than the top. Why?? Because the AC power cord has a big ass box on it which is forcing the bottom of the TV to jutt out. Had to go to Home Depot and get bolts that were a good half in longer and about a dozen washers (6 each side on top) so that i could push the top of the TV out as well to make it parallel with the wall. Now the face of the TV is a good 5 inches off the wall when i was hoping to go with a low profile mount and have it at about 3.5 at the most.. :banghead:

Maybe i'm a perfectionist, but this bugs the shit out of me... :skep:

You should of just got a big fugging hammer and bashed the box back into the sheetrock! Hell, it's behind the TV! :D

Oh and i have comcast digital voice for my phone.. And the phone went down yet again.. The alarm is linked to the phone line.. Now the alarm is beeping every 5 minutes telling me "Hey f@ckstick.. Comcast sucks donkey dick.. Change your f@cking phone provider or else i am gonna keep your ass up all f@cking night beeping n shit..."

The electician already went through the renovation property, but if something isn't right and we have to call him back i am gonna have him stop by my place and hardwire my shit and call it a day.

I can get a new power cord for $10 if i ever need one.

Comcast sucks. That is all.

I'm confused as to why the plug for the TV having a box on it (as you put it) is Comcasts fault. They make a recessed outlet that will go in your gang box but you probably already know this. Post up a pic of the carnage as I am curious what you're talking about.

:iagree: :confused5: I just mounted my plasma on the wall--the tv has a small recessed cavity that the bulky plug curls into to allow the bottom to lay flush against the wall... I must be missing something in OP's description...

AC adapter is 2.5" thick. The normal power cord is fine. There is nothing i can do about it. The face of the TV is 5" of the wall now.. Should be less.

Have you look around online to see if you can get a different AC adapter with a smaller footprint?

It won't be pretty, but you could always knock a hole in the wall to allow the ac adaptor a cavity to be recessed. You'd never see it unless the TV was removed.

Another thing...why the tiny TV? That wall could easily handle a 60". :leaving:

Its the kitchen. We put it in there so when the wife gets home from work she can keep the kids entertained watching PBS r whatever while she preps dinner. Prior to the remodel she would be in the kitchen and they would be in another room entirley which wasn't ideal.

If it was the livingroom it would be 50"+.

Comcast is the worst,no doubt,that is why I went with Knology in my area,no problems in 4 years now.:hurray:

So, if it had a conventional plug on it, you'd be better off?

Face of the Tv would be 4"s off the wall rather than 5"+.

Cleaner look IMO.

A low profile (right angle) NEMA 5-15P would only come out about 3/4".

Comcrap is exactly what I can them. My tv service with them was fine, but the phone and internet were neither one dependable.
