Why should we be held accountable for something that happened 200-300 years ago? BTW, slavery was a practice that was actually acceptable and legal in that timeframe.

And that raises another point. What will be the standard for proving your ancestors were slaves? Paperwork gets rather sketchy for many black people when you go back to the civil war and before. Ask anyone who traces people's ancestry. Who will decide the rules, who will pay for the work it takes to find the ancestral facts?
