I had one 10 years ago. They work fine in rural areas. In cities you have hunt for an empty frequency.

This device is a little bit difficult to use. It is challenging to change the settings. The quality of sound is only 75% compared to a direct connection. But it is acceptable. I did not send it back, and I am still using it. The challenge I had is to change the radio station. It's not intuitive it causes me some grief. But once I get it set it does seem to work pretty well, and it syncs with my phone. If you are willing to put up with some annoying problems with settings you can make it work. I didn't send it back, I kept it. And I still use it. It's not bad.

2.0 out of 5 stars When the ‘Wish’ knockoff is better than the original
Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2018

I originally owned the knockoff version off of this from Wish, which cost a DOLLAR. Decided to get the full price one, and lo and behold it’s worse. 1st issue: instead of some voice prompt that lets you know it’s connected, it makes a series of progressively higher pitched beeps. This wouldn’t be so annoying if that sound itself wasn’t so LOUD. The normal music tends to be pretty quiet, so you have to crank it up to hear very well. This means that the next time you turn the car on you are greeted with an unearthly series of ear shattering beeps. 2nd problem, and I’m not sure if it’s just the way this transmitter interacts with Spotify, but it randomly pauses my music all. the. time. Especially after locking my phone, meaning I have to unpause it randomly.

I'm using in 2010 SRX and works okay, but not great. You can use it with cellphone for playing music, navigation and taking phone calls but the volume has to be very height and it still isn't very loud. It does okay with music and navigation but with calls I have to speak with a very loud voice to be heard on call. When using for music and navigation at the same time the volume of the music is reduced when a directional cue is given and then returns music to the previous sound level. There is some distortion to the sound..., it's kind of like a radio station that is on the edge of its range. I'm not going to waste money to try another brand because it does works good enough, but..., I would not buy again or recommend unless you don't mind the scratchiness and lo-fi sound quality.

So I've had this since June (5 months) and it's not bad. It's definetly not the best or the worst, but it gets the job done. The instructions still aren't that clear to figure out though. My only issue is that it should be easier to change the channel on the device and that it should have different buttons to do so instead of using the "volume" button. While crossing state lines the station I was originally connect to wasn't empty and I had to try and scan for another one on the radio, and some how figure out how to switch from volume control to frequency control to match the empty station all while driving alone. I was using my gps too so I obviously couldn't hear the directions while I was trying to find a new station. Also the charger is really weak, it doesn't really charge your phone at all, more so it keeps it at the percent that it's currently at, so if your phone is at 0% don't count on it even turning on. I'm honestly considering getting a differnt device rather than this one... But it's still doing what it's designed to do.

For what you want to use it for, it will work just fine.
