1975 Corvette C3 Frankenstein From Death Race 2000
Some car movies where sure wacky back then, they are still wacky but in the 70's it was at another level.
http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/r...%20%282%29.jpg check out the fake motor used in the car. http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/r...20%2810%29.jpg and here is the real motor. http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/r...EUf3T5AJxH.jpg From the article: It features an unusual combination of a Volkswagen chassis, Corvair air-cooled, dual carburetor engine with a 3-speed manual transmission. The supercharged V8 in the back is faux, while the actual motor is under the bonnet as it would be in a standard Corvette. A Corvette-style body riding on custom wheels and BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires complete this peculiar scenario. 10 pictures and full article . |

Seems highly unlikely that the real motor is "under the bonnet where it normally would be on a corvette" using a VW floor pan with Corvair engine. The article describing it is as sketchy as the car itself....
Also seems bizarre that some producer had to stoop to this level of economy for what was in the time a big deal. |
