Waxer for a Weekend

I don't now nor have I ever considered my car a show car but I try to keep it looking good. This weekend it's time for the full detailing. Washed it with Dove, clay barred and starting the incredibly tedious buffing process. Using a Porter Cable and Maquire's polishing compound recommeded by Brian - COBRA4B. After about 3 hours of interrupted buffing I've got the hood and the nose done. :ack: I put a couple of coats of NXT2 on those pieces and it looks great. It looks like rain tomorrow - so no golf. The plan is to start early and get the exterior done so I can start on the interior. I'll let the sealer sit for a day and then add a layer or 3 of Carnuba.

The car will look great but I'd still rather be...:drivingskid:

Not that you need it, but with a good polish and some wax you will cut down on wind resistance and go even faster! So if it makes you feel any better, consider this another performance mod.

Done for now and I'm tired.

Started at 7:00 this morning. Finished polishing the paint and got a few things out I didn't think I could. I'm really surprised out how good the paint looks now. A few areas I used the yellow pad and went over it with the orange pad. For the great majority of the car I used the orange pad. The Maquires compound recommended by COBRA4B worked really well and was much easier to get off than the Menzerna I've used before. I put a coat of Carnuba on the hood and nose since I sealed those last night. I'll do the rest of the car in Carnuba after the sealer sits for 12 hours - or more. I used NXT2 which I've used before with excellent results and less work than Zaino.

Did the interior which also looks great.

Loaded another tune in the PCM and I'm good to go.

Now I don't want to drive it after all this work... :willy:
