Despite Lowering Standards, Military Woefully Short of Recruiting Goals

I guess mandatory clot shots and forced anti-white, pro-tranny training is a turn off for prospective recruits, especially with the looming specter of being asked to die in Ukraine so the Big Guy can continue to get his 10%. Quote:

but, but, but....you get free Pronoun Training!!!!

The military has gone Full Woke.
|
Nobody wants to serve under this woke regime and take orders from complete idiots.
|
America is failing . We have been digging this hole since the 70's.
|
Generals Patton, Bradly, Macarthur, Eisenhower LeMay and Admirals Nimitz, Spruance, Hasley are rolling in their graves at the bull shit going on in the military now.

After 28+ years enlisted and officer, my son just put in his papers for retirement. He's up for a guaranteed 0-5, but would have to give a 3 year commitment for the position.
The way this current military is heading, he doesn't want to be a part of it, tired of the wokeness, gender neutrality and putting people into positions they can't do, or won't do, he's tired of it. |
I retired back in 95. I get asked from time to time "don't you miss flying?" Sometimes but not really.

join us: learn to use deadly weapons, travel to far and exotic places, kill strangers using those weapons, return home to get a small ribbon and maybe shake the president's hand. what fun!

I retired in 04, saw the train wreck coming and wanted to get out of dodge before the wrecking ball swung. I'm glad I left. I remember the first time some new E-1 raised a reg flag and said he needed a time out because he was stressed out on the ship. The thoughts ran thru my head of "How long can you tread water?". Instead, I put my retirement papers in the next day.

I retired in '85 and could see the writing on the wall then. It seems like the National Guard is not nearly as woke as the regulars.

I really thought the rainbow bullets on the helmet would be a major selling point.

I had the displeasure of being an Army recruiter for a short while and it was hard to make mission back then. Most are about half way to retirement and have families at that point. Getting detailed to recruiting and not making your numbers could be a career death sentence. Crazy stressful.
I can’t imagine how horrible it is to be a recruiter now. They used to have one of the highest suicide rates in the Army. So glad I’m done with all that crap. Absolutely zero respect for the modern military, especially the upper echelons. |

And if you are one of the people who has studied history, you get to stand by helplessly while a bunch of idiots call you stupid, and urgently head down the same road as so many before them! |
Another sad thing: My daughter's boyfriend is a vet, and we were talking about the Army Physical Fitness Test (the APFT), and I asked him what the standards are for push-ups, sit-ups and 2 mile run. What he said didn't make any sense (he thought I meant maxing out each event, when I meant what does it take just to pass). I looked up the standards, and was shocked.
Let's just say that I am pushing 60 years of age, IMO, I'm not in particularly good shape, although I think I am doing OK for my age, and I have an arthritic left knee that is currently swollen, so I haven't run in 4 weeks. I shit you not, I could EASILY pass that test today! These are NOT high standards. |
