Broken rocker.....
Chair is wood, plastic finish, but after setting out on a porch, enuff weather finally finished one of the rockers, other side seems fine....SO, what to use now that iti's dried for a couple weeks inside.....thinking of the usual yellow wood glue, but maybe some of that new fangled super glue???
WATT'S YAWL's opinion....DAB?? |
Depends on where the break is but doweling may be needed and I'd use gorilla glue as its tough stuff and strong. Pic?
|
Wood glue is crazy strong. I agree pics are needed.

Looks like a lot of rot going on. I'd agree that glue isn't the answer. New pieces, as RMVette suggested.

Your rocker's got da termites! :willy:

Spackle not gonna fix that unfortunately. New rocker piece and one back upright as that bottom is completely rotted and will just come apart again. Might new new rocker time... And nail clippers from the CVS whole you're out. :kimblair:

Me too! I used to break stock rockers on my 69 SS 396 Chevelle often enough that I carried spares in my toolbox in the trunk. Finally replaceed them with Mr. Gasket rockers and never broke another. Valve springs yes... rockers, nope. |

I thought I was going to see one of these, and I was prepared to tell you to expect a little startup smoke.
