Brake Squeak... Maybe Gone?
My right rear brake squeaks super bad on my 2008 vert. 19,000 miles on the vehicle. It happens while slowing down with light brake application. I have replaced the pads (that were like new) with original equipment GM pads, checked the caliper slides and lubricated them, broke the glaze on the rotor and sprayed on NAPA disc brake quiet on the back of the pads. They still squeak like crazy. It's only the right rear side. The caliper isn't seized. It's free and appears to work fine. The only thing I can think is something wrong with the rotor. So... today I'm going to switch rotors. Put the right on the left side and see if the noise follows the rotor. If it still doesn't change I'm going to try this new product that NAPA sells. Has anyone used this product yet? Check it out!

Interested in finding out what works to stop the squeak on yours. My 06 does the same thing.

I solved mine with a supercharger, headers, big cam and Corsa Extremes. I just can't hear it anymore. :leaving:

That works! LOL. I have to measure the caliper piston and then call NAPA and order the cushion that fits my piston diameter. There are a ton of them that they make but no application chart at this time.
