2020 Subaru Outback XT Touring

Just traded the wife's 2017 3.6R Limited and got a balls to the walls, fully loaded black 2020 Subaru Outback XT Touring, pics tomorrow, as we just got home. Holy effing shit, these are not in the same zip code. I "liked" the 2017, and my wife had free reign to pick what she wanted, and that included a $20k more expensive Lexus GS350 F-Sport.

Now that I drove this Subaru home from Miami, if I were forced to pick between a $60k Lexus GS350 and this $40k Subaru, I'd pick the Scooby Doo 10 times out of ten. (We paid $36k out the door with the trade of the 17. We had good equity.)

The tech on this car is amazing, and the turbo 4 cylinder is SO MUCH better than the 3.6R boxer 6. More power, more torque. Best part, our neighbors won't truly have a clue that we bought a new car. The stealth factor between the '17 and the '20 is amazing. Room inside for my big ass is HUGE. I can't drive with the seat all the way back. :faint: (Snide would like this car)

They run the cvt right? My inlaws have an ascent nice car if it weren't for the transmission.

The 17 and the 20 both have the CVT. They have VASTLY improved them. On the drive over to Miami, I showed my wife on at least 6 occasions while driving 70 mph, I put my foot to the floor...5 FULL SECONDS LATER the car accelerated.

New car is INSTANTANEOUS. Extremely fast, had it over 100 at one point coming home.

I bought a used 2016 Subaru Outback just last month. I sold my 2000 Ford F150 Crew Cab on Craigslist and traded in our 2005 Honda Accord. The Outback had only 23k miles on the clock. Last month, I drove it to Southern CA. Great gas mileage and the power this 4 banger has blows me away. It's not their top of the line, but with low mileage and all wheel drive, I'm happy I bought it for $21k.

Years ago thinking of a Subaru. At that time people in cold weather states were complaining about the inadequate heater in the reviews I read. Living in New York it kill the thought of a Subaru for me.

A friend of ours recently got one of those. It’s huge ! Not what I expected from an Outback.

Glad she's diggin' it. Looking forward to pics; or hell I suppose I'll wind up seeing it in Feb.

Didn't realize Subies had come that far along with being fun to drive, other than the few sport models.

Why would your neighbors care what you own? :island14:

Snobby gated community, and we just don't give an F. We'd prefer people not come up and talk to us, like they have in the past, every time we get a new car. Her old subie and new subie are very similar, and same color. My wife's sister saw it today at the half marathon and didn't realize it was different. We like the privacy.

Not sure that will happen when I get the C8. Kinda hard to hide that one.

Still can’t believe you’d get a black car living in Florida.

Call me Henry Ford. You can have any color you want, so long as it's black. As a kid, I started working at a car wash when I was 14. I've been a car nerd, and detailing fanatic my entire life. When a black car is clean, the shine is like no other.

Patty was granted cart blanche to pick the vehicle she wanted, but the color is always a constant.

C8 will be black.
