"Don't wanna make a habit out of that!!" Pretty sure I would pass on that action. More like a shoulder fired howitzer....

Well I have fired a .460 Weatherby and it was a very interesting experience.

That cannon looks like its a bit stouter than the big Weatherby!:D

:iagree: If I had to shoot it to save my ass, I would as many times as needed. For fun? No thank you.

My supervisor at work is also a gunsmith. He has a Browning rolling block .45-70 that he rechambered for .45-120

Where the problem lies with his fine looking weapon is that it only weighs 8 lbs. A comparable "as factory made" .45-120 weighs 18 lbs to help absorb the recoil.

He's been shooting it at the gun club where a few folks folks have asked to shoot it. One guy asked to shoot it and Gary told him not to raise his elbow up to keep more meat behind the stock. he fired it and said "WOW!! That a real comebacker"

Another guy came across as a know it all ( known at the club as a total pain in the ass ) and said " it's only blackpowder. It can't kick much"

Gary handed him the weapon and one cartridge. He loaded it, had his elbow up even with his shoulder and touched it off. Gary said you could see pain in his eyes. He didn't say a single word, handed the weapon back with his left and promptly left.
