February Photo Contest - Topic: Your best ever
We haven't had many entries the past few months so I thought I'd suggest something different this month.
Go through your archives and find what you think is you best photo ever and post it up. Better still, go take the best photo you've ever taken and post it. No chopping in stuff that wasn't there but no other rules. Multiple photos are encouraged but please indicate which one you want to enter before the contest ends. Let's set the deadline for entries Mar. 4. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's best work. EDIT: I meant to mention some description or explanation of your photos would be great. There are already some, so keep them coming. |

I always enjoy a great beach. This is a little different than the always perfect sand and sunshine. Maybe that's why I like it because it's not the postcard type beach. |
I took this shortly after my got a my first digital camera, a Kodak point and shoot. This was the second picture. I took the first, made a simple adjustment and "magic happened". It was a named storm went thru the eastern US and my wife and I were fishing in Ontario Canada on Charleston Lake and this is was sunset that evening. This is over looking Wolf Island.

Hard to pick - do I have to pick one?
Don't know how to remove attachments - I'm going with "Kid on Horse" |
This was taken last October before "Milky Way Season" ended. The bright core of the Milky Way is only visible between May and October or so. For the locals, this was taken at Ft. Griffin a couple hours west of Ft. Worth. VERY dark skies there during the new moon. Exposure was ~30 seconds. 11 mm at f2.8, ISO 3200.

I've posted this before, but I've always liked this pre-dawn capture of Melbourne, Australia's central district.

Last week, I visited a game preserve in central Kansas (Maxwell Game preserve). I was the only person in the park, and the bison were on the road and on both sides of my truck. I couldn't get out to take pictures, because they were too close. I took these out the window. I will use the first picture for the contest.

USS GEORGIA is the fourth OHIO - class submarine and the third ship to bear the name of this grand state, one of the thirteen original states of the Union.
In October 2005, conversion started to modify the USS GEORGIA to carry 154 conventional cruise missiles instead of 24 Trident missiles. After completion of the conversion, the GEORGIA will be redesignated SSGN 729. As an SSGN, the GEORGIA will also able to support operations of up to 66 Special Forces Personnel for up to 90 days. We had our annual Vettes at Waterside and caught this boat leaving on sea trials after the above mentioned conversion....... http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...E_20060001.jpg http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...E_20060002.jpg |
