Picked up a new car

It's not a Vette, but it was a deal I couldn't pass up...

A 2018 Camaro 1SS 1LE. Wow, I couldn't believe what they have done with these cars. Between the 6 piston Brembos, bigger brakes, tires and suspension this thing handles great...

I’ve had a couple of students at the track that have those. Freakin track monsters ! Great car. Have fun.

Great looking car and love that it is black, now how about some car wash pics :D

Sea Six 08-22-2018 3:27am

Wow- very nice!

The current gen Camaro is light years better than the previous. Like a C5 to a C4.

VITE1 08-22-2018 6:33am

Beautiful ride. Enjoy. :seasix::cert:

I miss my Camaro SS DAILY. As soon as it’s in the cards, I’ll be scooping up another! Enjoy it, and keep it between the ditches!

Thanks all, it really is a great handling car..

It's going to be a lot tougher, we have two little kids up the street and
one of them was in Muggs class. Whenever I have the car outside they're right there. Who knows, maybe if they're away on vacation or something. But we did make a trip up to Skyline driver over the weekend. :cert:

We’ve got a ‘15 2SS. Great ride.

Very nice!! :cert:

Got to drive one last year and I greatly enjoyed it. Gobs of torque, great handling. Just took a bit of time to get used to the visibility issues.

I didn't find the visibility issues that big of a deal. I think Mugg's Audi A3 have a few more blind spots than the Camaro.

The brakes are really good as well as the handling, even in sport mode it's not too bad.

Ironically the part that I'm having the most issue with is the clutch. I've driven a manual for 40 years, but this one catches so low compared to my DD Audi, and of course the gas pedal is more sensitive than the Audi, jumping from one to the other I really have to think about which car I'm in for a few miles... and then it's good.. LOL.

It's horrible. This is our second Camaro. You get used to it but it's still horrible, especially when you're coming from a Tahoe.

mrvette 08-26-2018 2:52pm

Nice ride, put bubble mirrors on it......and you must be VERY strong to pick that up.....what did you use to grip it with???

Just been trying to get out as much as we can on the weekends - trying to get over the 1500 mile break in..

True, it's worse than my A4 and worse than my previous Camaros, but doable. It probably would be more of an issue if it was my daily driver, but really not an issue for now.

That's interesting to hear. The rental was an auto of course but it would have been a lot more fun in a stick.

My A4 (2004 1.8T with a slightly larger than stock turbo) has little torque below 2500 RPM, and since the clutch catches high, you generally have to let it up quickly past mid point and get the revs up to not bog it down. Just a bit to get use to.. also, probably taking it a bit easier on the new clutch anyway. Still wouldn't have gotten anything else. Still haven't played with the rev match either..

Decided to bring this thread back up instead of a new thread... Since the weather is getting nicer, had a chance to get the Camaro back out. I did a few mods over the winter just to personalize it a bit. I added some blacked out side markers, the GM ZL1 Dark Tail lights, removed the Camaro badges on the side and changed out the red SS emblems to some black ones. Just wanted to to black out as much as I could. I'm really happy with the way it looks and drives, it's a great car...

Many miles and smiles!!!! I like those blacked out tail lights, how did you do that?? and does the maker of that plastic cover do it for other cars??

like the '68 Olds tail lights in my '72 vette?? I wonder how they show RED when needed through a black looking lens.....:confused5:
