Has Anybody Here Contracted Covid-19 ?

We have been self quarantining for, what it seems, too long.
Liz and I know 4 people who have died and another 3 who have had it and survived. They survived, however, their bodies are in a diminished state.
We shop via Instacart and I will go out with a mask for stuff when needed.
Not socializing really is starting to suck, but we gotta do what we gotta do to not contract it.

I know someone who got the Wu flu in NYC and was hospitalized, but not intubated. It took him over a month to recover, counting hospital stay and convalescing at home. His family in the same house did NOT get it, thankfully. That's the only one I know personally.

I still think this is way overblown, governments inspiring panic, but I will admit to being wrong about it dying off in the Summer. It's friggen 95 in Houston, and 1,000% humidity. I figured, WTF can live through that. Apparently the Wu flu can live through that.

Personally, I just live my life, but try to avoid sick people, or people actively coughing. .Everybody's gonna get this sooner or later, and most will be just fine, some won't.

I have been looking for an illegal immigrant to act as a contractor, and get the virus for me. So far, the Craigslist ads have not been productive. Anyone have any better ideas?

Dang, where do you live that’s so unhealthy? Our county has 90,000 people, 175 cases and 1 death. Don’t know anybody with it. Still play golf, walk the beach, go shopping and eat out several times a week. Wear a mask only when forced to, which is almost never.

We value quality of life over quantity. Hiding at home afraid isn’t quality living. YMMV.

I agree and aren’t ya glad ya don’t live where Jeff79 lives...

BTW Florida is proving to be the new inbred state... rivals Alabama with new cases “detected”. Y’all should close the bridge where ya live before Rikki and DJ come up:rofl:

Last week we flew into PA. Stayed One night less than 10 miles from my 90 year old mother. Did not tell her were coming as she would have wanted to get together. We did not want to expose her after just getting off a flight. We are both feeling healthy with no symptoms but didn’t want to take a chance with her.

I have siblings spread out from Vermont to Texas to Florida and have not heard any of them talk about someone they know getting Covid.

Lots of us wish we could close the two bridges. Don’t live or work on the island? Sorry, go home. :seasix:

A1A bridge from Jax to our island is two lane. One good size truck could easily block both lanes. :seasix:

Haven't worn a mask from day one. I don't drink the kool aid. Either have my siblings or children. And i don't know anyone that has died. I knew 3 people that died of heart attacks the last 3 month. One that had a stroke and died. And a couple of people that died of old age.

Loco Vette 06-30-2020 7:57pm

No. I do know an interventional neuroradiogist in town I saw the other day who knows of 3 people who died from cerebral aneurysms either because everyone was afraid to check on them and potentially expose them to COVID or they were afraid to seek treatment for the same reason.

So far 5 deaths in Knox County from the virus. And at LEAST 3 from the hysteria.

Broken Wind 06-30-2020 8:39pm

There is a long term care facility about four miles from me that has had over 100 cases between residents and staff. Seven dead the last time I checked. I mask up if I’m going to be around people. I hedge my bets.

Rodnok1 06-30-2020 8:58pm

FIL is currently recovering from kung flu and a dr i know hadna severe case and was in ICU for a month.

JRD77VET 06-30-2020 9:00pm

My brother had it and a very good chance I had it around Christmas / New Year. ( took me a month to feel normal )

I deal with truck drivers everyday, so far, so good, but we did have a sickness outbreak last 2 weeks of November into mid December. I never had any of the symptoms? Wuhan flu??? :island14::island14::island14:
