Guy at Lowe's slaps the side of my truck with his hand... what would you have done?
I stop by Lowes on the blvd to get some hose clamps after work. As I'm leaving the parking lot I turn right onto the main lane that runs in front of the entire store. A 40ish y/o white male walks out in front of me... one of those "I have the right of way so you'll stop" folks. My options are:
1. Slam on my brakes and wait for him to cross or 2. Drive around him I chose option 2.... I drove to the left of him going 10 mph maximum. Well he decides to slap the bedside of my truck as I went by... you don't ****ing touch my ****... messing with my personal property is one of the few things that will set me off as I normally have a very very long fuse. I slam it in park and get out and curse him out. I scared him and he starts calling me "sir" while threatening to call the police for me "almost running him over". I point out 3 marked cross-walks in the parking lot, none of which he was in. Furthermore, I pointed out that Lowe's was private property and the police would have no interest in coming for him being a moron. He kept repeating that he would call the police, then said, "I didn't even do any damage do your truck." To which I replied that it was the ****ing principle of not touching someone elses property and called him a stupid **** for good measure then left... haven't been that pissed in a long time, but nothing to gain from decking the guy and getting in trouble for assault etc. So what would you have done if someone had *****-slapped your car/truck/etc.? |
he couldn't hurt my old F150. if I'd been in the Vette I would have probably done what you did. hell, I probably would have gone to jail.

Yeah he really couldn't hurt my truck either, but it's the principle of it all... for him to think that it was perfectly fine to smack my truck isn't ok with me. Maybe next time he'll resort to a few fleeting curse words vs. touching someone else's stuff.

I would have probably had to get out and give hime some chit. If I was to slap someone car as they passed by I would certianly expect some sort of confrontation to develop. Rest assured he won't be doing that again.
|
Find out where his car is and peed on his tires. Either that put a hose clamp around his neck and tighten it down.
|
Beoch slap him back and called it even. :leaving:
|
I would have dumped him out of his wheel chair and then backed over his upper body. Then I would have power braked a nice smokey burnout while I was there, hoping I would flatten his melon in the process. You can't go light on these kinds of people.

mace him

Would have quietly walked up...just stood there as he looked at my scrawney, old body with a 40 cal. SIG on my hip and waited for him to speak first...then ask him to politely wait until I got all his personal info that i will need for my civil suit to get my truck painted and or detailed...let him sweat by saying almost nothing and leaving with a big smile ! with a smile

Oh come on...it's a car, not a Faberge Egg.
I tend not to sweat the small stuff. |

I guess I was taught to always yield to pedestrians, as a matter of common courtesy.
When creeping along in a store/mall parking lot, I almost always wave everyone on foot to proceed ahead of me. So I can't quite say what I would have done, since this situation will probably never happen to me. |
I'm in the peds have the right of way on a retail parking lot camp.
If I get buzzed by someone close enough for me to touch the vehicle, I probably wouldn't slap it. I'm probably kneeing a dent in the quarterpanel as an icebreaker to a spirited discussion of driving etiquette. |

The guy had to go out of his way to hit my truck... thats what pissed me off. He had to lunge to hit the very end of my bedside. I was turning right out of the parking area on to the main lane in front of the store. He was to my right so I didnt see him until I was in the lane. Plus all he had to do was slow down 1/2 a step. I could have slammed brakes, or just driven around to the left.... the most logical thing to do was drive around to the left and I would do it over again every time. It would have been different if I had actually buzzed him or was going fast and not paying attention.
