Unsuspicious 02-14-2024 10:07pm

Their homes should be empty after sending them all to fight in ukraine

LATB 02-14-2024 10:11pm

Eff Ukraine. The 90 billion should be spent on deportation and border protection.

BayouCountry 02-14-2024 11:35pm

Every illegal should be given the choice to be drafted and sent to Ukraine or self deport themselves back to their country.

Swany00 02-14-2024 11:57pm

they should also have to leave their doors and windows open since walls don't work

IB4TL 02-15-2024 6:08am

I'm pretty sure 90% of Biden voters are illegals :island14:

zsr22 02-15-2024 6:23am

Our prisons are already filled with Biden voters. Now our homes have to be filled with them too?

I'm all for foreigners coming here. SO LONG AS THEY USE THE FRONT DOOR!

Lock the gates and give fewer accessible points of entry, ie: Build the Wall!

Massachusetts couple volunteers to host migrants, four show up an hour later: ‘We really knew nothing’

A Massachusetts couple who volunteered their home for the state to house some migrants received their guests only an hour after signing up as the migrant crisis worsens in the Northeast.

Chris and Jessica Stokes opened their Brookline, Mass., family home to a family of four migrants from Chile after seeing photos of hundreds of illegal immigrants sleeping overnight inside a terminal at Boston Logan International Airport.

After the state’s newest migrant-specific shelter in Roxbury reached its 400-person capacity in less than a week, many looked for shelter at the airport.

The Stokeses’ new guests, a couple and their two young children, had been staying overnight at Logan Airport before being sent to stay at their new accommodation, according to WBZ News.

The program was set up for community members to support newly arrived migrant families by donating money for food, clothes, language tutoring and even sheltering them, according to WGBH.

The Stokeses were thrown off guard amid the quick turnaround time from signing up to having the family of four arrive at their front door.

“I was like, ‘I have to get sheets on the beds. How many people are coming? Where are they from? What ages?’ We really knew nothing,” Jessica Stokes added.

“The need is so clearly overwhelming,” Colin Stokes added. “It boggles the mind that there are so many hundreds of those stories and those people who are in such a stressful, traumatic transition.”

The family also shared insight into the crisis that has caused problems in many major cities across the country.
Migrants sleep inside Boston Logan International Airport after shelters reached capacity.

“It is incredible to observe on the front lines how challenging it is,” Jessica Stokes said.

“Just the dysfunction is really disheartening and I know that really well-intentioned people are working as hard as they can, it’s a state of emergency. But it is distressing to see the volume,” she added.

The two young children are waiting to be enrolled in a school while their parents are hoping for work, but have to wait for work authorization papers, which could take months to process, according to CBS Boston.

The migrant crisis has been complex for Massachusetts while officials struggle with resources for the new arrivals.
The stokes were surprised when the family showed up at their door only an hour after signing up.

In August, Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency after the commonwealth reached around 5,600 families — more than 20,000 individuals — in state shelters.

The next month, she mobilized 250 members of the Massachusetts National Guard to help transport the latest arrivals to shelters across the state.

In late January, Healey’s office used the Melnea Cass Recreation Center in Roxbury as a shelter for the migrants because it was “just born out of necessity” as other shelters had become overwhelmed.

Officials this week debated on locations for where a new shelter could be set up.

"The family is lovely. They are so appreciative. It has been wonderful," Jessica Stokes said of the family that are staying with them.

State Sen. Nick Collins (D-Suffolk) offered up UMass’ Mt. Ida campus, citing dorm space not being used, but Healey shot down the suggestion as not a viable option, according to NBC10 Boston.

Another option was an office building in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood, but the governor again rejected the proposal because the building doesn’t have any showers.

“What we don’t want to see is a public health crisis. I think that’s a big challenge we’re looking at,” Collins added.

In the beginning of the last century the American leadership was wise enough to realize that after Ellis Island that we were good and they shut the door.
Until the democrats opened it wide in the 1960's thanks to the corrupt Ted Kennedy.

We have plenty of problems that need solved. Adding 10's of millions of unskilled welfare cases to the population is not helpful.

And there lies the problem. The left has convinced the American youth that hard work is beneath them. So they ship them off to the university indoctrination camps to make them good little liberal wards of the state.

My second job as a teen was working for Sunshine Maintenance a janitorial company. I scrubbed toilets, mopped floors, vacuumed, even did windows!

The job wasn't bad at all really. Some jobs we'd get locked inside a building for the entire weekend and worked straight thru the nights stripping and buffing floors in huge stores (Two Guys, Korvettes). The overtime was incredible for a kids paycheck!

I will this time. He won me over with his leadership skills and articulate vernacular. A true freedom-loving patriot he is.

We DO NOT need any illegal immigrants. We have a legal immigration policy, that lets about a million people per year into our country. Folks who study it have said for decades that we could EASILY go to 2 million per year, and have it be good for our country, IF AND ONLY IF, we got some reasonable control over the Southern border.

Think about the difference between legal and illegal immigration. A few examples: legal immigrants can not be convicted felons, and must have a sponsor of some sort, like a family member already a citizen or an employer willing to hire them. Illegal immigrants just walk across the border, and instantly become a liability on our system, and apparently the liberals don't care if they are coming here to deal drugs, or escape prosecution in other countries for violent crimes.
