McMaster-Carr

Probably the best online presence on The Planet. I needed screws for my Spider build. M5, fine thread, oval head, 12 mm long, stainless to replace the chrome plated that a previous owner had messed up.

They had them. Also had about a dozen other lengths. Gotta buy in lots of 50 and pay shipping, buy they arrive in two days, not a week like Amazon.

You want a CAD drawing of the screw? They got that too.

Five stars all the way. :seasix:

In other shocking news - the Sun will come up tomorrow in the East and the Moon is still in orbit.

In more shocking news Yadkin won't do three threads a day.

As a mechanical engineer, I can tell you that McMaster-Carr is wonderful. And, if you can't find it there, Grainger will probably have it. The fast delivery is a bonus. I still keep a McMaster-Carr catalog next to my desk at home. I have a very old Associated battery charger that I keep in one of my barns. A couple of years ago, one of the plastic wheels failed and just split in half. I got a short length of stainless steel rod, two urethane wheels, and some split shaft collars from McMaster and now my battery charger is like new again. Actually rolls better (smoother) now than it did 40 years ago.

We have a local Fastenal, they've bailed me out of jams multiple times, you may have to buy a 10 or 25 pack of a specific fastener but often its still cheaper than 1 or 2 from a big box store, if they even have it....

Fastenal is great for construction fasteners, but not automotive.

McMaster Carr is by far the best to get stuff online. We buy allot of hardware for our jobs on the road.
While on the road, I will find a local hardware place to get from them, help out the economy.
And we went to a Fastenal in Pensacola, no longer does retail. I think I can order and pick up there, just cant go in and buy.. That sux Fastenal.
Grainger, no more..

I have no problem with that business model. It takes a lot to staff a counter.

I've had good luck in the past with sourcing both automotive and motorcycle fasteners from them. :yesnod:

Have used them for decades, top notch products and service.

Love McMaster. Been ordering from them for decades. Just replaced the plexi in my rack with 9255T855 perforated sheet from McMaster. In hindsight, 14ga was way overkill.

I won't be impressed until they sell an upgraded driveway rock that actually works.

If you can't build stuff, you don't. :seasix:

I use them for some elusive JIS fasteners.

I had a friend that would create a list from AIM manuals, etc...and then buy in bulk and put together bags for classic automobiles and motorcycles. Like - a bolt kit for the front front suspension or a kit for the interior, etc...made good money doing it.
