Congrats Val. If you ever get down to NE Florida and are looking to play,
Steve_R and I belong to the same club. We could set up a round.

Oh, and our entire island is without power since shortly before 5:00 PM
Apparently there was some sort of accident involving the trunk line from the mainland. Our Generac is keeping the lights on, the fridge cold etc but our internet is also down. Just stepped outside and it is pretty damned dark in the hood

99 pewtercoupe 10-19-2020 6:52pm

Power, cable and internet just came back up :hurray:

Nope, running like a mofo, 12.6v, 185° temp, 48 psi oil pressure @70 mph, 218° transmission temp, ice cold a/c, and HOT heat. And Iron Maiden loud as as Fuch.👍

Nicely done Doc! My sister who died in August, 1995, was autistic so it is a cause near and dear to me.

Four man amatuer teams with a pro as 5th, a shamble (Pick best tee shot and play out your ball from there, handicapped.) We tied for first with a -32 and won the scorecard playoff by virtue of my net eagle on #1 .

I don't know what any of that means.

Great score but how many tee shots from the pro did you use?
Just curious. I have played in that kind of format before when the rest of us were hitting wedges in on par fours. Can be a fun format.

Pro had to play from the tips. The other two guys in our foursome were decent long ball strikers and hit from the blues, so we wound up using the pro's drive probably only 50% of the time. Putting was the key, greens were SLIIIIIIIICK!

I have too. In the one I played in, the 'pro' on our team was a starting player for the KC Chiefs (can't remember his name) and honestly he wasn't very good at golf. It was more like a sports celebrity type thing, all for charity. We didn't place very high IIRC, that was 10 years ago or so.

We exchanged phone numbers and he actually texted me a few times. Let me look him up: Rashard Langford was his name.

:cert: Golf is the best game ever...it's one of those games you can enjoy when your young all the way through to your later years and still not be better then when you started

There is an old saying....
Golf is like sex, you don’t have to be good at it in order to enjoy it.

That's an effective strategy if you get the right one! Has worked for me once or twice in the past.

Neither. Bob (the shorter one) is an OB/GYN and delivered the event organizer's sons, one of whom is autistic and builds the trophies.

Thanks for clearing that up. If you'da made me guess I was gonna guess the guy on the right. :D :seasix: So do the entrance fees benefit an autistic charity? How does that work with a golfing event like this?

They have sponsors put up money and prizes and the entry fees minus whatever it costs to put on the event go to charity.

Swag for us for this event was a new pair of golf shoes, 2 face masks, 1 golf shirt, 1 pullover, a sample of CBD Oil, and three Titleist ProV1's. With my first place money I got another shirt, another pullover, and twelve more Pro V1's. A good day.
