PCH Road Trip

1 Attachment(s)
I have wanted to take a PCH road trip since I lived in San Diego, just never got around to doing it.

Is it really worth taking a week off work and driving? Attached is the route I'd take. I'd start north and work my way south.

Can't be worse than work. :cert:

Reno to SLC is a long stretch of nothing

Yes it is! I've driven from SLC to San Francisco a few times, from San Diego to San Francisco a few times (taking the fastest route posible), and from San Diego to SLC several times.

I’d only drive PCH during the week. It was a nightmare on weekends in the Bay Area.

I live off PCH. Drop by and i'll let you take me to lunch. :yesnod:

Would love to make that trip, but, I would drive north up PCH. That way, the ocean will be on your left so you might actually be able to see it.

This isn't Florida. We have hills and mountains along the beach. And PCH is always higher than the ocean so you always see it. Fricken Canucks

Do it.... drove the whole thing combined over two trips

Our convertible Z28 and a rented convertible Mustang

Santa Barbara north towards Carmel and San Francisco is beautiful and worth the drive. San Diego to Santa Barbara not so much. In fact San Diego to Santa Barbara via PCH is a traffic nightmare.

I'll be honest with you: you'll have a lot more fun driving some twisty mountains roads than you will driving PCH. :yesnod:
