PA probably comes close to that if not exceeding it. :slap:

Hunting license $20.90
Archery $16.90
Muzzle Loader $11.90
Migratory game bird $3.90
Bear license $16.90
Spring Turkey $21.90
Fur Taking (trapping) $20.90
Pheasant permit $26.90
FED duck stamp $28.40
Antlerless permit $6.90 each

If you want an actual paper copy of the rules, that's $6

Oh, so you want to shoot on a PA Game Commision rifle range? That's an additional $30 per year for a permit

Fishing license is $22.90
trout stamp $9.90
Permit for Lake Erie $9.90

PA just LOVES to nickel and dime you to death for everything
bastards

Yeah, sounds about right Jeff. :banghead:

We also have a "Second Rod" endorsement on the fishing license which is about 14 bucks...at least it was a few years ago the last I did it. I liked the idea at first, because I could throw bait for trout and let the rod sit there while I threw a plug for Bass at the mountain lake. I tried doing that and ended up getting bit left and right for trout and just gave up on having fun with the bass (catch and release only at the lake where my cabin is). I'll just focus on one or the other.

At any rate, I haven't done it for a few years, because that's putting my total cost around $120 which is ****ing stupid if you ask me. :island14:

I pay enough with Property Taxes, DMV fees and other bullshit, just leave me alone!

Whatever. I can screw around for another year, legally I guess. :island14:

I haven't even tried for tags on anything to be honest, that's even MORE money. I just get my hunting license in case I have an opportunity to go. I really want to do a hog hunt up in NORCAL or the Central Valley. Pig is an over the counter tag here, and it's not that expensive.

The Cabin is in the California D14 Zone for Deer, which is Buck Only. I haven't tried it. It's a tough hunt with rugged terrain...the small California Mule Deer in the San Bernardino's eat a lot of sage and I hear they taste like shit...So it's not a priority.

A lot of Mountain Quail and Chukkar up there though, and I could basically walk to the forest and legally hunt them...Wish I had a dog for the Upland stuff. :island14:

Texas' Super Combo hunting and fishing licenses are $ 68/year, free for active duty military and disabled vets, and $ 32 for those 65 and over. You still need a federal duck stamp even with that.

JRD77VET 02-10-2019 9:54pm

PA has elk and there is a drawing every year. You pay for the chance to be picked. They even have an option where you pay to get another "point" for an elk tag without actually trying for a tag that year.

Fees collected from previous years were used to purchase the game lands. Now they make you pay to target shoot on the lands you already paid for. Same with the pheasant permit, now it's just another way to squeeze more money out of you. :slap:

I’ve hunted D14. It’s a bitch, plain and simple. A lot of people get skunked in D14. If you hunt on contingency, you should not even buy a hunting license until you plan to go. As long as you have your Hunter Safety Course certificate or an old license, you can buy a hunting license any time, just before you go hunting. If you don’t go, then you just saved your money for the year.

There are years that I don’t go hunting. I never buy a license in those years.

Antfarmer2 02-11-2019 4:59am

In Texas many here buy deer leases.

Der Flieger 02-11-2019 8:52pm
