New Gasser Project....
5 Attachment(s)
I found this car a few years ago hidden behind a barn in a lean too. I finally convinced the owner to sell it to me. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not....:confused5: Gonna be a long term project. Everything for it is in the car and trunk. No eng/trans and missing windshield, but pretty complete otherwise. The body is very straight and rust free so its got good bones. :seasix:
Always wanted to build a Gasser and this is the perfect candidate for one. It's a '65 Dodge Coronet like the one I had previously. That one was just too nice to make into a Gasser. |
Get some better side photos and I'll chop it to look like what you're thinking, so you have ideas of what direction to go.
Happy Thanksgiving. :cert: |
That's gonna be sweet, love gassers.

Good luck with your project. :seasix:

Gonna be a week or two before he brings it to me. I gotta clean out all the crap in my garage so I can fit it next to the '32....:yesnod: |
Nice,have always liked that roofline.

Awesome looking project! If it's going to be all traditional you can get a lot of info and interest on it here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...ssage-board.5/. These guys are a pain in the ass about non traditional builds, but love a period correct one :seasix:

Like those old style gassers. A good deal to watch is the Southeast Gasser association. They but on a good show.

Got the gasser project delivered to the house today. Did quick inventory of all the crap inside and it looks to be very complete. Got all the chrome and stainless trim, headlights, taillights, grill, even got the headliner bows and all the side glass. The body is virtually rust free. The only rust thru is the driver floor board and it is minor. Im a happy boy...:hurray:
Here's a few pics in the garage.....:) |
You’re the man Zeek!
First car I pegged the (120) speedo was a ‘68 440! My buddy totaled it, involving a trash truck! Lol |

This was the MOPAR that got me hooked....my first one, a '65 Plymouth Satelite w/383 Magnum and 4 speed. Unfortunately, it did not go quietly....:drivingskid:
The current one will be my 4th....:yesnod: |
Bro in law had a POS Belvedere. 440 etc. he thought it was a #1 when it was a #4. Told him he had to loose the 200# of bondo and finish at least the front engine bay, interior if he wanted a #3. Ya thought I shot his mother (MIL) he was so pissed
Fast forward 15 years, strip engine/ trans, trim and ship for a $500 scrap fee……. DumbAss |
