Well, new to me anyway. I usually buy some kind of hot rod/sports car at the start of each summer to drive for the season and then sell. Every now and again I end up keeping one for a while. This may be one of those cars.

1988 IROC Z, 83k miles, two owners (second one since '08). Needs some odds and ends (both door panels have a crack, windshield is cracked, driver's seat bolster is worn) but ac and everything works. Original except for a B&M shifter and cd player.
Also came with a EBC C5/Z06 brake kit and subframe connector set. Dude was going to drop an LS3 in it but decided it was to nice to molest. Runs like a dream! Picking it up tomorrow and the work begins!

And yes, I stole it for a bargain!:BADRACR1:Attachment 39865

Meh, I just bought it to drive, not race. It will be fine for what I want.

What would you race a crossing guard?

I agree ....biggest piece of shit i ever bought... I had a rear main seal leaking on my 1980 Z28 and did not want to deal with it ....after getting my ass handed to me in a golf tournament i drove back to Eugene and saw a 1987 Limited Edition IROC Z on the ramp...told by brother it is mine....What a turd. My fault ....i didn't know the 305 was shit and to get the 350, lesson learned when a girl in a 350 IROC pulled up next to me ...and walked away. But it sure was pretty at the time.

Same here, 1985, first year for IROC Camaros if I remember correctly...car was a beauty but not much in the power department. I always got a lot of compliments on it.

Congrats! I saw it on Marketplace and thought about it! I still have my '89 IROC that I bought new.

There was a guy in high school that had a red one. I was jealous! But I had a Pontiac Sunbird as a first car :ack: although I was just happy to have any wheels at all :Jeff '79: :yesnod:

I've had my eye on two local ones, but the fuggers keep holding on to them.

If I wanted to make it a race car he also had an LS1 and trans sitting in the garage. His original plan was to swap it, install the subframe connectors and Z06 brake package.
His Dad bought it from the original owner in '08. He starting collecting parts last year but after driving it a few months decided he didn't want to destroy an original car and stopped after he installed the shifter. I am glad he did. I plan on just closing the hood and cruising for the summer then sell it for a good profit.
