I was in 3rd grade and the principle came over the pa and said that President Kennedy had been shot. About and hour later she came on again a said he had died. School was cancelled for the rest of the week. A sad day for this country.:sadangel::halfmast:

i was 7 months old. likely crying and pooping and napping.

4 days out of the womb, still in the hospital,

I was in the fifth grade in Catholic school. The nuns were all freaked out. For those who don't know, Kennedy was the first Catholic president and the church had practically bestowed sainthood on him.

10th grade HS class, announced over PA. Sad day. :halfmast:

So not much different than now, huh?

Well, less crying, but wish there was more pooping.

Yeh, I knew he was first Catholic prez.......but have there been any others??

I was almost 4. Very vague memories of sadness.

Wasn't born yet....

Me either, but I do remember when Reagan was shot.

Also 5th grade for me ... I remember not understanding the term "would-be" assassin ... went home for lunch - then back to school found out he passed ... a big shock to the nation ... nowadays we'd probably shrug it off in a few days ...

I was on the high school bus picking up middle schoolers and they told us on the bus. Remember it well.

I was in the first dorm set up for me that year, in the trailers/temp housing left over from Korean war, we called them the 'tin cans'.....behind frat row loop off US1 in College Park Md, just north of DC.....

so we watched Mel's little B&W TV, like a 14" screen B&W of course.....just a rabbit ears antenna and of course there were no cphones, just land lines and too boot a group of maybe 4 payphones to call out local on, and the lines were around the block, so not to bother standing in line for hours.....I remember my Father asking why I didn't call home as classes were cancelled....and I told him,

I grew older just about 1/2 mile from the Navy Medical tower/campus where they took Kennedy for processing......had been through the place maybe 3X in all them years there....:sadangel::shots:

I was in college. Heard the news on my car radio....

I was 7. Don't remember where I was when I first heard it, but remember watching all about it on tv. Very somber time it was :sadangel:

3rd grade, home sick with the flu.
