No courtesy any more.
I was out to eat tonight and as I was leaving I see a credit card sitting on another table I grab it and walk up front with it to turn it in. I see the people outside talking so I walk out and return it to the guy. Turns his back with out saying a word and continues on with his conversation. No thank you.
You know guy I saved you alot of hassle. :toetap: |
That's ignorant.. I have have had the the same done to me! If someone did that for me the least I could so is hand them a $20 and Say Thank very Much!

Next time go buy a tank of gas or two... I left my cell phone in the back of a cab two weeks ago (Uncle was in town, barely remember getting home), and just met up with the cabbie a few nights ago to pick it up. Slipped him $20 and said thank you. He looked shocked. It's a $500 phone, was the least anyone should do!

Too bad ya didn't go back to him and say, "I wrote down the number so you may want to cancel it tomorrow since I'll be done with it then".
:D |
Azzhats are everywhere man. You done good.
|
Probably thought you were the restaurant manager and were only doing your job... :D
It is good to know there are at least a few good peeps around these days. |
Sad part is I Graduated high school with his two kids in 2007. The kid knew who I was but he didn't say hey either. I guess it runs in te family.

Kids learn their manners from their parents - I've seen it first hand.
You did a good deed. I'm sure if someone else found it, they'd be out making charges on it. |

Yep, azzhats ARE everywhere. But thankfully there's some good people like the OP among the azzhats. Some years ago I stopped at a 7-11 early in the a.m. to get some coffee and some cash out of the ATM. I walked away from the ATM w/ my card and got in line to pay for the coffee. A guy came up to me while I was in line and held out 5 $20 bills and said "you left your money in the ATM". I was so grateful, I couldn't thank him enough - had to follow him out to his car to get him to take one of the $20's I was trying to give him. He could have just pocketed that money and no one would have ever known. |

A few years ago, I had a teller give me more money than I was due in the drive through at the bank. I rang the bell and told her. She rudely replied "No, I did NOT." I said "well, I just didn't want you to come up short." And she made another rude comment something like "I did not mess up." So I drove off with the money. I'm with you...no courtesy at all...and in her case, I know for darn sure her drawer was short that night when she counted out. :willy: |

It still amazes me that some people just don't get that you are looking out even if you don't know them. Oh well at least no good deed goes unseen maybe he will be like that comercial where he will somthing nice because I did for him. Yeah like that will happen. Hahahah

I had a teller give me back 1600.00 more once. I was keeping out 200 and depositing 1600 from my check. Well, she gave me back 1800, along with my depostit slip for 1600. I didn't notice until I got home. I called the 800 number, checked my account, and sure enough the 1600 had been added in there already. I drove all the way back to the bank, went inside, asked to speak to the girl at the drive through, and explained to her what she had done. I gave her back the money, and don't you know she didn't even say thank you or anything. Just took it, and walked back to her seat at the drive through window. I was like WTF? :skep: So I walked in Barbs office(helps when you know the branch manager personally :D) and told her. She was very appreciative, and ticked off. Barb and I walked out of her office, and she told the girl to get in her office. As I left, I smiled at her. :D |

Again, no courtesy. :( But good for you! :) |
Any chance those 2 banks were Bank of America? I deposited cash this past summer at a B of A and a couple days later saw online that the account had been credited $1300 too much. I looked at the deposit slip and indeed it was wrong. I called the CSR line and told them - they said it would all balance out in a couple of days and not to worry about it. My husband and I couldn't figure out how they could verify a cash deposit so we went in the next day to let them know what happened. The kid at the front said "oh, that was me", took the deposit slip, went to a terminal and made the adjustment, came back, handed us the deposit slip and said "here ya' go" and walked away. No thanks, no nothing.

But no, the incident I mentioned wasn't Bank of America. |
