EVs have a long way to go before no longer being the minority on the road.

With that said, eventually we will see advancements in technology where 600+ mile ranges are the norm. Just like we'll see EVs that can drive themselves to an automatic charging station for a top off while you're not using the vehicle.

Hell, it won't be long until we see EVs having the ability to share battery power with each other.

They're not going to make 600 mile commuter cars. Same reason they don't give ICE cars now 30 gallon tanks. The ranges are going to stay around 300 and as battery tech gets more efficient, they will just get smaller and lighter.

How about induction chargers at stop lights?

That's fine. But we will get to the point where range anxiety is an afterthought.

Not sure if you've noticed but he claims somehow tires last longer on EV's, as do all other things. And since he doesn't keep vehicles for over 100k, he doesn't care about your math.

Correct. EVs have special tires to handle the extra mass.

When I saw my old roommate from college last summer driving a Tesla, I asked him for his likes and dislikes. The first thing he brought up is that the tires are really expensive, and don't last as long as the tires on his ICE vehicle.

Why does it use special tires? :island14:

There are many more facets to the EV thing. Number one, they are the automotive equivalent to plutonium. The scar the earth has to bear just to get the cobalt and lithium is substantial, not to mention that child/slave labor is in full force. Yes, technology will develop, but in our lifetimes, I'm sorry, but these things are nothing but a fraud. Exactly no one is saving the planet by driving these hunks of shit. As per usual...follow the money. The major automakers will go broke, and that is why we pay out the ass for vehicles now with ICE. Just wait for the bailouts at taxpayer expense. It's all a bunch of bullshit.

Just the extra 1000 lbs or so, getting it going, stopping, etc

Well, that just got added to the ever-growing list of reasons not to buy one.

Even Phred admitted that was real. But you missed it?
