To each his own....I won't say its been without its challenges but I have 2 great kids to be proud of..The oldest daughter age 23 just got her masters degree from Georgia Tech in Aerospace Engineering and works for NASA.. She went through school completely on her own with state and National Science Foundation Scholarships..The Second daughter aged 20 is now in West Virginia Univ on a full Bucklew Scholarship and will graduate a year early with a bachelors in Bussiness, she hasn't decided where to get her masters yet, but Im sure it will be with a Scholarship because she's always first in her class...Let me make it perfectly clear that they get there brains from there mothers side of the family, not mine...:D..If all kids turned out like this I have no doubt almost everyone would want them.........WW

I've had this conversation before with guys that are living the high life. Different girl every night, only expense is themselves. That does sound envyalbe. But for me, the very second my first was born was when I realized nothing else mattered. My cars don't mean anything in comparison. I could loose a car and I would bitch about it for a while but can't even imagine the pain of losing a child. The point is, I had no idea prior to his birth how it would change me. But then that's just me. Obviously, there are some who don't share my ideals.

Kids were never in the cards. Been married 22 years, neither of us ever wanted them.
As for getting old, we'll take care of each other until one is gone. When that happens, she or I will find someone who wants half of our estate (other half goes to charity) in exchange for keeping her/me ticking until we punch out. I'm sure I'll (or she'll) find a taker. Wifey and I have saved and invested over the years....with this in mind. I do have one niece that is a real sweetheart and would fit the bill just fine. Kids are great....just never wanted my own. For which I'm sure the world is eternally grateful.... |

There's a hippie commune in southwestern San Bernadino county that is my charity of choice. Perhaps my bequest will buy them paints, janitorial supplies, and such.

I think with this one passing the 1,200 post mark and most likely being the longest thread that will ever grace TVB (OT topics are limited to 1,000) that it is time to retire the original, put it in the Hall of Shame and start anew.
I gave up long ago on trying to keep you clowns actually on the topic of C4s so... I present you with your new playground. https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/c...part-deux.html |
