My dad shaved with a straight razor all his life. He died in his 90s in 1987.

He was pretty good but he got nicked good a few times over the years. As dad was a undertaker he kept a small bottle of formaldehyde in the cabinet. It stopped the bleeding real fast when applied.

Look at his crow's feet and other signs of age on his face, then compare that to the lack of aging on his arms. Yes, the obviously low testosterone level fits with the face and arms, but clearly his arms, pictured, don't match the aging face.

I know you were kidding, btw.

They're generally referred to as a safety razor - when they first came out they were seen as safer than a straight razor.
Can they provide a better shave than today's multi-edge razors??

THANKS

I've never used a safety razor but probably not. Straight-razor enthusiasts insist straights give a superior shave to anything else. I don't know if it's ever been proven or disproven with hi-res photography.
