Jeff, if you really want the next time I work with 4" rigid conduit (wall thickness is .225", weighs 130lbs for 10 feet galvanized steel) i'll let you know. I'll get a nice 8 foot piece and you can put cement in the mofo... 100% sure to mess up the plow before he takes out the mailbox.

My mailbox gets smacked every freakin winter :issues: I have thought about doing something like that, but was always worried I would get the bill to fix the damn plow truck!

I never have that problem, our plow drivers stay a good 3-4 FEET away from the edge of the roads so I have to finish their job for them.

But now...

Just getting ready to do the final clean up of the walks and driveway. Did them twice last night, in the high wind and blowing snow. Had to be cleared to get my wife coming home from work last night. Today looks nice, it's very sunny, no wind, but still very cold.

Have you ever been in middle GA when it snows???? Holeeeee crap. These bunch of no drivin', buyin' up all the eggs, bread, and milk dummies cease to amaze me. I grew up driving in the snow in the mountains of VA and it's no big deal. Ice, well, a different story....stay home. Around here, you would think the supply truck from Atlanta ain't gonna make it for another three months. For all you frozen Yankees, well, we may talk funny down south, but we're not frozen like a fish stick.:D Hang in there! I know it sucks, well, unless you're heading to the ski slopes, and in that case...Wooo Hooo!!:seasix:!!!!

No need for that. The snow coming off the plow is what takes off the mailbox off the post. They have since replaced the telephone pole and the new one is about 6" closer to the road. Since the mailbox post is 5' or so from the pole, if they get my mailbox, they'll take out the pole
