I went to WalMart at lunch and it looked like a surgeon's convention let loose. Masks everywhere. Idiots. half the people didn't have their noses covered. A few had painter's masks on.

Growth in total cases for 3/30 was 14.3%. Still growing very fast, but still NOT exponential. Bad day for deaths though, 573, highest single day number so far.

I'm observing. I still believe the general response by leadership is grossly exaggerated.

Some of them won't take it seriously until they're lying in a triage tent and the doctors are giving the last ventilator to a younger patient. ;)

Is it serious, yes... Are 240k going to die here... No.
Will this path we are taking kill the economy and possibly ruin the next 10 years economy and possibly young adults futures.. Yes.
The result could be exactly what happened to the economy in the 80s.

Time will tell but by summer gonna suck bad in this country I bet, let alone the enormous debt and tax increases will be stuck with. When budgets come out next year for cities people will gasp when reality slams the door shut on anything but bare essentials(without a huge tax increase) for the next few years to pay off this debt(read no sales tax or income tax coming in).
We don't restart this economy and soon and won't have to worry about people buying all the food/TP as they won't have any money to.

I hope I am wrong, but I suspect that that 240,000 could POSSIBLY be a low estimate.

I am convinced that COVID was here LONG before we were aware. I know for a fact, a patient that had ARDS in our own hospital was there for 2 weeks before the 1st positive test was confirmed in OK, and she ended up having it . She did not acquire it from the facility.

I am taking it serious. I don't mind making some sacrifices to make sure my family and I stay healthy. Plus I have to stay healthy to get a ride in the '68.:yesnod:
