What a massive pile of raccoon turds!!

In 1998 we had two young ones, third was on the way, Explorer was 5 years old with 100+K miles.
Wifey wanted a damn minivan, as two relatives had Dodge minis that she liked.
So I compromised, said we would look at Ford lineup, they had a few still new 1-year old aerostars on the lot--100% turdshit.
Then we looked at windstars, she liked, I discussed price, both purchase and lease, crazy thing was the lease payment was higher than the purchase with no money down.
I figured it out, the windstar was JUNK, no one wanted them, and upon lease return they were losing their arse.

Thankfully the Expedition was out of a year, got one, it served it purpose for our family of five, bought two more after that, DAMN GOOD VEHICLE!!

The windstar, and aerostar, should have been named edsel!!

Whoah there, Hoss! While the Windstar and Aerostar were gigantic turds, the Edsel, mechanically, was an excellent car. Had the MEL (Mercury/Edsel/Lincoln) big block V8 engines, 9" rear and, and robust transmisision. Only the STYLING was suspect. But as a car, they were not turds. In fact, some of the fastest cars on the road at the time, right up there with the 430 powered '59 T-bird.
The mistake American cars started to make (Cadillac is the biggest guilty party) is to use the consumer as the product tester instead of doing the product testing prior to release like the Japanese do. It saves time and money, sure, but you end up with stuff like the V8-6-4 or the 4100 or 4500 or Northstar. And generations of pissed off former customers who now drive Lexus's.
